At-Home euthanasia

The purpose of home euthanasia is to make this emotionally painful time the best it can possibly be, so you can walk away from the experience with a bit of peace in your heart and mind.

It is our passionate belief that pet owners deserve the option to have a home euthanasia. Saying goodbye to a beloved pet can be an extraordinarily hard and challenging choice to make. Traveling to a vet office at this critical time can be extremely stressful and upsetting for both the family and pet. For some debilitated pets, travel is not even an option.

If you are interested in home euthanasia services, please call. Our team will do our best to find a time that works for both you and your pet. Dr. Horn has received specialty training through the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy to ensure her clients and patients have the best possible experience at this very difficult time.

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet can be overwhelming, even unbearable. But doing so in a more pleasant and controlled environment, with your pet surrounded by the people and things they love, can make it a less stressful time for everyone involved. It gives you the privacy to say goodbye to your pet from the comfort of your own home and it allows your pet a compassionate, respectful, and dignified passing.

We want those family members and friends that want to be there, to be able to be present. This needs to be done in the most peaceful place possible – under a tree, on your pet’s bed, by the fireplace, or wherever you choose. Dr. Horn will sedate your pet before administering the final euthanasia injection so your pet will not experience any pain or discomfort.

Costs for in-home euthanasia vary by pet weight and travel distance, please call our office for more information. Transportation for cremation services is available for an additional cost.
